Formula: 10% Matric + 40% Inter + 50% NAT
FAST-NUCES uses the National Aptitude Test (NAT) conducted by NTS. You need a minimum of 50% in NAT to be eligible. The merit is calculated using the above formula for BS Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering and other programs.
Example: Matric 90% + Inter 85% + NAT 70% → (90×0.10) + (85×0.40) + (70×0.50) = 9 + 34 + 35 = 78%
Formula: 10% Matric + 40% Inter + 50% NTS
COMSATS uses a similar formula to FAST. The NTS test score carries 50% weight. COMSATS has campuses in Islamabad, Lahore, Abbottabad, Wah, Sahiwal, Attock, and Vehari.
Example: Matric 88% + Inter 82% + NTS 75% → (88×0.10) + (82×0.40) + (75×0.50) = 8.8 + 32.8 + 37.5 = 79.1%
Formula: 30% FSc/Inter + 70% ECAT
University of Engineering and Technology Lahore gives heavy weightage (70%) to the ECAT entry test. This is one of the most competitive engineering admissions in Pakistan. Matric marks are not included in the UET aggregate formula.
Example: Inter 85% + ECAT 65% → (85×0.30) + (65×0.70) = 25.5 + 45.5 = 71%
Formula: Holistic admissions (academics + SAT/LCAT + extracurriculars + interview)
LUMS does not publish a fixed formula. Admissions are holistic — they consider academics, test scores (SAT or LCAT/SBASSE test), extracurricular activities, essays, and interviews. Our calculator provides an estimated academic score based on 50% academics + 50% test score.
Example: Inter 90% + SAT 85% → (90×0.50) + (85×0.50) = 45 + 42.5 = 87.5% (estimated)
FAST requires NAT (by NTS). COMSATS requires NTS. UET requires ECAT. LUMS accepts SAT or conducts its own LCAT/SBASSE test. NUST has its own NET — use our NUST Calculator for that.
These formulas are based on publicly available admission criteria from each university's official website. Always verify with the university's latest admission advertisement as criteria may change.
For UET: 75%+ is competitive. For FAST/COMSATS: 70%+ is good for CS programs. For NUST: 80%+ for top programs. These vary by year and campus.
Yes — most universities accept A-Level equivalence. IBCC issues equivalence certificates converting A-Level grades to marks out of 1100. Use the equivalence marks in this calculator.
